Where in the world is Panama? Panama is at the southern end of Central America where it shares a border with Colombia. The Panama Canal connects the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. Start at Colon on the Atlantic side and using the zoom features on the map to locate the canal. Zoom in on one of the long shadows to see what a cargo ship looks like from a satellite! Collectors of Panama notes have little to choose from and all of the choices are pricey. The so-called "Arias Seven Day" issue (1- 5-, 10-, and 20-Balboa notes) circulated for only a week before being recalled and destroyed. - This was following a coup which deposed President Arias.
