Where in the world is New Hebrides?

New Hebrides was the name for the joint colonial possession of France and Great Britain which is now the modern country of Vanuatu. It existed as a joint possession from 1906 to 1980, when it achieved independence. It lies in the South Pacific Ocean, to the east of Australia.
