Formerly known as British Guiana (and at one time a member of the British Caribbean Territories), the country of Guyana sits on the northeast (Caribbean) coast of South America. Guyana is the home of spectacular scenery (including the Kaieteur waterfall) and diverse Amazon plant and animal life.
