Where in the world is Ethiopia? Ethiopia is a country located in the Horn of Africa. It is officially known as the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. It is bordered by Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, and Kenya. It contains some of Africa's highest mountains, as well as geography which dips well below sea level in some areas.
