Where in the world are the Central African States?

The note-issuing authority referred to as the Central African States is comprised of six republics. Geographically they stretch eastward and northward from the west coast of central Africa. Currently their note issues have the same designs which are distinguished by code letters printed on the faces. Earlier issues (listed separately) are identified by the name of the republic on the face of the note

Different States are identified by a printed code letter on the face of the note. The code letters changed in 2002:

E (1993-2001) U thereafter = Cameroun; F (1993-2001) M thereafter = Central African Republic; P (1993-2001) C thereafter = Chad

C (1993-2001) T thereafter = Congo Republic; N (1993-2001) F thereafter = Equatorial Guinea; L (1993-2001) A thereafter = Gabon
