Brunei shares its northern coast with the South China Sea, and is otherwise completely surrounded by Sarawak. The official language is Melayu Brunei. The sultan of Brunei is Hassanal Bolkiah, and the government is Unitary Islamic Constitutional sultanate. Brunei was briefly occupied by Japan from 1941 to 1945.
